First joining Words Alive in 2009, we are thrilled to welcome back bestselling author Chris Bohjalian in discussion of his new riveting novel, The Lioness.

About The Presenters
Chris Bohjalian is the award-winning #1 New York Times bestselling author of 23 books (The Hour of the Witch, The Flight Attendant, an Emmy-nominated TV series) and a playwright. His work has been translated into 35 languages and become three movies and an Emmy-nominated TV series. He lives in Vermont.
Dr. Seth Lerer is an American scholar, teacher, and public lecturer who specializes in the history of English literature and the English language. He is a Distinguished Professor of Literature at University of California, San Diego, where he served as the Dean of Arts and Humanities from 2009 to 2014.

Virtual ticket holders will receive their packages within 2 weeks of the live event.
Virtual Book Club
In-person or virtual ticket holders can add-on an invitation to join a live, moderated online conversation with Dr. Lerer to discuss themes in the book following the live event. Limited capacity.

Ticketholders are invited to attend one session.

At this year’s highly anticipated event, we hope to raise $200,000 to support hundreds of children, teens, and families in San Diego with diverse, engaging books and shared reading experiences for the 2022-2023 school year.
In lieu of a silent auction or vendor sales, the Words Alive community is being asked to fulfill specific programming needs for children, teens, and families.
Mission Marketplace opens in May.
