Let’s Read with Words Alive (Family Literacy) Program Instructor
POSITION OVERVIEW: A Words Alive Program Instructor delivers high-impact programming in Spanish and English in a way that’s most accessible by the parents, families, and partners we serve. Program Instructors help families with young children learn why exploring books is important for child development and ways to make it a fun family habit. Each week our bilingual Program Instructors welcome families, conduct/model a read aloud with children using power-phrases and enrichment techniques, and lead parent-child activities. Program Instructors communicate via SMS/app-based platforms with families between sessions.
Currently recruiting qualified candidates for a hiring pool while contracts are finalized. Programming begins in October, February, and April.

Page Turners Intern
POSITION OVERVIEW: Words Alive is seeking an energetic, responsible intern to support and strategically grow our largest volunteer mobilization initiative, Page Turners. Through Page Turners, volunteers review and share insights about diverse, relevant, fresh titles Words Alive is considering for use in our programming. Our Page Turners volunteers develop deeper connections with Words Alive while building the love and joy of reading in themselves, their families, and their communities. More than 1,200 volunteers, from around the world, participated in Page Turners over the past year.

Learning Design for Social Change (Programs) Intern
POSITION OVERVIEW: Words Alive is seeking an organized, thoughtful intern with strong writing skills and a deep interest in informal curriculum development to help us deliver the Words Alive mission. Our Learning Design Intern leads and supports passionate, experienced volunteers (many are retired teachers) to create high-quality informal curriculum for use in our programming for youth 0-18.

Storytelling Intern
POSITION OVERVIEW: Words Alive is seeking an energetic, responsible intern with strong writing and organizational skills to help us tell the Words Alive story through compelling stories and with the support of passionate volunteers. At Words Alive, we know that the power of a good story has the ability to change lives. Our Storytelling Intern has an opportunity to build a team of volunteers who can capture and organize mission moments across the organization, and then work to disseminate these mission moments to the Words Alive community.
