Words Alive prioritizes populations disproportionately impacted by the literacy crisis. 100% of our participants live or attend programming in San Diego’s historically disinvested communities.

Rooted in collaboration, we partner with 80+ schools and organizations working in the communities most impacted by poverty and systemic injustices.

Partners include Head Start programs, home childcare providers, Title I public schools, Juvenile Court and Community Schools, and out-of-school time providers serving low-income and Promise Zone communities throughout San Diego County.
