This author series is brought to you by the San Diego Public Library and Words Alive
Words on Bathroom Walls tells the story of Adam Petrazelli, a schizophrenic teenager hoping for a fresh start at a new school. Told entirely through journal entries that Adam writes to his therapist in lieu of speaking, we get an intimate window into Adam’s world and his own reflection on his illness as well as its effect on his life. Through his writing, Adam describes his hesitancy to speak, as he fears that the words often come out wrong.
Write your own letter in which you apologize for a mistake. That mistake can be taken from your life experience or an imaginary one through the eyes of a character you are developing. Either way, taking ownership of a mistake can reveal a lot about character!
Julia also presented a Write Now workshop. Find the full workshop below!
