Most states in the U.S. had laws founded in racism that lead to the mistreatment of minorities, these are generally referred to as Jim Crow laws.
Research the history of Jim Crow laws in your state, write a story about an imaginary person and the effect a Jim Crow law had on them.
For example: You could write the story of someone who couldn’t take a person they loved on a date because their laws prevented them from being together in public. Did they accept it or did they secretly date?
